DOWNTOWN SEATTLE / GUIDE
Downtown Contract and Change Log
Record discoveries, access delays, substitutions, added work, credits, schedule effects, and approvals in dated entries.
PRACTICAL GUIDE
Record the condition that changed
Preserve provider identity, accepted scope, assumptions, building terms, permits, schedule, payment, and each later change.
Do not allow a verbal change to erase the original boundary.
Approve scope before added work
Each entry should identify the date, location, new field condition, supporting photograph or finding, proposed scope change, price and schedule effect, permit or inspection effect, restoration responsibility, decision maker, approval, and unresolved consequence. Preserve rejected options as well as accepted changes.
Store final invoices, inspections, warranties, and closeout records with the agreement.
