Separate SPU water service, city union, private exterior line, building connection, backflow protection, and interior piping.
New, repaired, or replaced exterior piping may have inspection timing that affects when it can be covered.
Protect the inspection sequence
Bring available service cards, plans, meter information, valve records, leak history, prior permits, and proposed work. Ask SPU and the provider which current inspection, testing, notification, or concealment requirements apply before trench, cover, paving, landscaping, or restoration is scheduled.
