A provider's ability to diagnose a unit condition may depend on access it does not control.
DOWNTOWN SEATTLE / GUIDE
Mechanical Area Access Plan
List the area, responsible contact, escort, required protection, timing, equipment labels, and permitted observation.
PRACTICAL GUIDE
Prepare controlled-space entry
Coordinate keys, escorts, hazards, equipment ownership, shutdown authority, and record access for controlled building spaces.
Do not enter locked, confined, wet, energized, hot, or otherwise unsafe spaces.
Stop when the room or route is unsafe
Confirm the escort, keys, sign-in, alarms, protective requirements, equipment clearance, photography rules, elevator or stair route, loading plan, and work-area protection before the visit. A provider should not receive a door code or independent entry authority merely because an appointment exists.
Ask whether another trade or building engineer must participate.
